MEMORIALIZING Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim
July 25, 2024, as Intern Appreciation Day in the
State of New York

WHEREAS, The State of New York State recognizes the invaluable
contributions made by interns who dedicate their time, energy, and
talents to the betterment of our state; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to memorialize
Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim July 25, 2024, as Intern Appreciation
Day in the State of New York, in conjunction with the observance of
National Intern Appreciation Day; and

WHEREAS, Interns play a crucial role in supporting the legislative
process, fostering innovation, and contributing to the growth and
development of New York; and

WHEREAS, The dedication and hard work of interns deserve
acknowledgment and appreciation from the New York State Legislature and
the citizens of our great state; and

WHEREAS, Intern Appreciation Day, falling on the last Thursday in
July, provides an opportunity to express gratitude to interns for their
commitment to public service, their enthusiasm for learning, and their
role in shaping the future of our state; and

WHEREAS, This esteemed body recognizes the importance of fostering a
positive and inclusive environment for interns to thrive and gain
valuable experiences; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim July 25, 2024, as Intern
Appreciation Day in the State of New York, to honor and celebrate the
contributions of interns to our legislative process and the state as a
whole; and be it further

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body encourages all citizens to take
part in recognizing and appreciating the efforts of interns,
highlighting their role in building a brighter future for New York; and
be it further

RESOLVED, That this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted
to The Honorable Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New York.
