BILL NUMBER: S1186 SPONSOR: PERSAUD TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to school bus parking on city streets PURPOSE: Regulates the parking of school buses operated by or pursuant to a contract with the New York City Board of Education. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. The administrative code of the City of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-610 to read as follows: 3 § 19-608 School bus parking on a city street. No school bus operated by or pursuant to a contract with the Board of Education shall: (a) park on a city street on weekdays between the hours of five p.m. and five a.m., or park on a city street on weekends between the hours of five p.m. on Friday and five a.m. on Monday.

PERSAUD -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Cities 1 AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to school bus parking on city streets THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-611 to read as follows: § 19-611 SCHOOL BUS PARKING ON A CITY STREET. NO SCHOOL BUS OPERATED BY OR PURSUANT TO A CONTRACT WITH THE BOARD OF EDUCATION SHALL: (A) PARK ON A CITY STREET ON WEEKDAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF FIVE P.M. AND FIVE A.M., OR (B) PARK ON A CITY STREET ON WEEKENDS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF FIVE P.M. ON FRIDAY AND FIVE A.M. ON MONDAY. § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
