 Introduced  by  Sen.  COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on  Energy  and  Telecommuni-
   cations
 
 AN  ACT  mandating  that the public service commission examine a process
   for streamlining actions relating to identifying and removing  certain
   utility poles

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The public service commission shall initiate  a  proceeding
 to  examine  a  process for streamlining actions relating to identifying
 and removing utility poles that do not have any attachments and  are  no
 longer  in  use.    Every pole owner shall submit information related to
 such poles and other relevant information at the request of  the  public
 service  commission. On or before September 30, 2024, the public service
 commission shall issue an order adopting the new or revised rules  asso-
 ciated  with the matters examined in the proceeding provided for in this
 act.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
