 Introduced by Sens. SANDERS, BORRELLO -- read twice and ordered printed,
   and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Finance
 
 AN  ACT to amend the state finance law, in relation to requiring certain
   information be made available to elected officials  prior  to  funding
   reductions for hospitals and nursing homes

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 24 of the state finance law is amended by adding  a
 new subdivision 6 to read as follows:
   6.  PRIOR  TO ANY APPROPRIATION REDUCTIONS IN FUNDING TO A HOSPITAL OR
 NURSING HOME, ANY INFORMATION OR  DATA  PRODUCED  INTERNALLY  OR  BY  AN
 OUTSIDE CONSULTANT USED BY THE GOVERNOR, THE DIVISION OF THE BUDGET, THE
 DEPARTMENT  OF HEALTH OR ANY OTHER RELEVANT STATE AGENCY TO JUSTIFY SUCH
 REDUCTION SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE  STATE  ELECTED  OFFICIALS  WHO
 REPRESENT SUCH HOSPITALS OR NURSING HOMES.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
