BILL NUMBER: S2490 SPONSOR: COMRIE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the tax law, in relation to credit card processing fees PURPOSE OF BILL: To allow medallion owners and designated medallion agents the flexibili- ty to pass along credit card processing fees pertaining to the congestion surcharge to the customer SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: This legislation makes an exceptionally minor clarifying change to the congestion surcharge enacted into law in 2018, whereby medallion owners and designated medallion agents are provided the flexibility to pass along credit card processing fees pertaining to the congestion surcharge to the customer. The A-Print of the bill makes clear that the receipt portions of this legislation only apply to medallion vehicles, as opposed to liveries.
