 Introduced  by  Sens.  MYRIE, SKOUFIS -- read twice and ordered printed,
   and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections
 
 AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to the  date  on  which  a
   county committee shall meet
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subdivision 1  of  section  2-112  of  the
 election  law, as added by chapter 42 of the laws of 2019, is amended to
 read as follows:
   (b) Every county committee  shall  meet  no  earlier  than  [September
 seventeenth]  ONE  DAY  AFTER THE JUNE PRIMARY IS CERTIFIED and no later
 than October sixth following the June primary.  Until such  organization
 meeting, the existing county committee shall exercise all legal authori-
 ty.  Upon  the  conclusion  of such organization meeting, the new county
 committee shall assume all legal  authority  vested  in  the  previously
 organized county committee.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
