 Introduced by Sen. FERNANDEZ -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
 AN  ACT  to  amend  the public authorities law, in relation to requiring
   that all  metropolitan  transit  authority  buses,  excluding  express
   buses,  are fare-free; and providing for the repeal of such provisions
   upon expiration thereof
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  1266 of the public authorities law is amended by
 adding a new subdivision 15-a to read as follows:
   15-A. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISIONS OF LAW OR THE TERMS OF  ANY
 CONTRACT,  THE  AUTHORITY  SHALL ESTABLISH AND IMPLEMENT A NO FARE PILOT
 PROGRAM FOR TRANSPORTATION ON ALL  AUTHORITY  BUSES,  EXCLUDING  EXPRESS
 BUSES, FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS.
   §  2.  This  act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be
 deemed repealed six months after such date.
