 AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the practice of  phys-
   ical therapy
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Subdivision b of section 6734  of  the  education  law,  as
 amended  by  chapter  410  of  the  laws  of 2011, is amended to read as
 follows:
   b. Education: have received an education, including  completion  of  a
 [master's]  DOCTORATE  degree  [or higher] in physical therapy or deter-
 mined to be equivalent, in  accordance  with  the  commissioner's  regu-
 lations;
   §  2.  Section  6743  of  the education law is amended by adding a new
 subdivision 3 to read as follows:
   3. AMENDMENTS TO THE  EDUCATIONAL  REQUIREMENT  IN  SUBDIVISION  B  OF
 SECTION  SIXTY-SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR OF THIS ARTICLE MADE BY A CHAP-
 TER OF THE LAWS OF TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-THREE SHALL NOT BE  CONSTRUED  TO
 AFFECT THE VALIDITY OF EXISTING LICENSES AND PERMITS.
   §  3. This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become a
 law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment,  and/or  repeal  of
 any  rule  or regulation necessary for the implementation of this act on
 its effective date are authorized to be made and completed on or  before
 such effective date.
