BILL NUMBER: S6489 SPONSOR: KENNEDY TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to licensure fees for seniors PURPOSE: This bill waives the fees for license renewal for any person who is sixty-two years of age or older. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends paragraph c of subdivision 2 of section 503 of the vehicle and traffic law to waive the fee of license renewal for those who are sixty-two years of age or older. KENNEDY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to licensure fees for seniors THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (c) of subdivision 2 of section 503 of the vehi- cle and traffic law is amended by adding a new subparagraph (v) to read as follows: (V) THE RENEWAL FEE FOR A LICENSE FOR ANY PERSON WHO IS SIXTY-TWO YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER SHALL BE WAIVED. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD05072-01-3
