 Introduced  by  Sen.  COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Securi-
   ty and Military Affairs
 
 AN ACT to amend the veterans' services law,  in  relation  to  providing
   certain support for veterans to help alter their discharged status

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 4 of the  veterans'  services  law  is  amended  by
 adding a new subdivision 38 to read as follows:
   38. TO PROVIDE LEGAL AND/OR TECHNICAL SUPPORT FOR VETERANS WHO WANT TO
 CHANGE HIS OR HER DISCHARGED STATUS TO HONORABLE BECAUSE SUCH PERSON WAS
 DISHONORABLY  OR ADMINISTRATIVELY DISCHARGED FROM THE ARMED SERVICES DUE
 TO SEXUAL ORIENTATION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
