BILL NUMBER: S7688 SPONSOR: TEDISCO TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in relation to requiring the installation and use of security camera systems at all entrances and exits of state parks PURPOSE: To require the installation and use of security camera systems at all entrances and exits of state parks. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: § 1. Section 3.09 of the parks, recreation and historic preservation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 24 to read as follows: 24. Require the installation and use of security camera systems at all entrances to and exits from state parks, state historic sites, state campgrounds and state recreational facilities. TEDISCO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in relation to requiring the installation and use of security camera systems at all entrances and exits of state parks THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3.09 of the parks, recreation and historic preser- vation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 24 to read as follows: 24. REQUIRE THE INSTALLATION AND USE OF SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEMS AT ALL ENTRANCES TO AND EXITS FROM STATE PARKS, STATE HISTORIC SITES, STATE CAMPGROUNDS AND STATE RECREATIONAL FACILITIES. SUCH SECURITY SYSTEMS SHALL BE POSITIONED IN A MANNER TO ALLOW FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF THE MANUFACTURER, MODEL AND PLATE NUMBER OF ANY VEHICLE ENTERING AND EXITING ANY SUCH STATE PARK, HISTORIC SITE, CAMPGROUND OR RECREATIONAL FACILITY. FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SUBDIVISION, "SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEM" SHALL MEAN ANY ITEM, SYSTEM, CAMERA, TECHNOLOGY DEVICE, COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE, OR PROCESS, USED ALONE OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH A NETWORK, FOR THE PURPOSE OF GATHERING, MONITORING, RECORDING OR STORING VIDEO, AN IMAGE OR IMAGES AND SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO, ANALOG AND DIGITAL SECURITY CAMERAS, CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION, WEB CAMERAS, AND COMPUTERIZED VISUAL MONITORING. § 2.
