S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 8612 I N S E N A T E February 21, 2024 ___________ Introduced by Sen. MATTERA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Energy and Telecommuni- cations AN ACT to establish the hydrogen vehicle task force THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The New York state energy research and development authori- ty in cooperation with the department of transportation is hereby authorized to establish the New York state hydrogen vehicle task force to provide the governor and the legislature with information on the potential effects of expanding the fleet of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the state. § 2. The task force shall be comprised of: a. two members appointed by the governor; b. two members appointed by the temporary president of the senate; c. two members appointed by the speaker of the assembly; d. two members appointed by the minority leader of the senate; e. two members appointed by the minority leader of the assembly; f. two members appointed by the superintendent of the department of financial services; g. one member appointed by the president of New York state energy research and development authority; h. one member appointed by the commissioner of transportation; and i. one member appointed by the Manufacturing Alliance of New York. § 3. The task force shall: a. examine and evaluate the use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles within the state; b. identify the potential effects of expanding the use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles; and c. make recommendations on expanding the use of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles within the state. § 4.
