 Introduced  by  Sen. PALUMBO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Procurement and Contracts
 
 AN ACT relating to permitting the Setauket fire district to  enter  into
   contracts  with  the  state  university of New York at Stony Brook for
   services and other consideration without public bidding

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the
 Setauket fire district may enter into agreements and/or  contracts  with
 the  state university of New York at Stony Brook. Such agreements and/or
 contracts entered into pursuant to this section may be for the  recipro-
 cal provision of services or other consideration of approximately equiv-
 alent  value  including,  but  not  limited to, routine and/or emergency
 services, moneys, equipment, materials, buildings and facilities;  or  a
 commitment  to provide future routine and/or emergency services, moneys,
 equipment, materials, buildings or facilities. Any such contract may  be
 entered  into  by  direct  negotiations  and shall not be subject to the
 provisions of section 103 of the general municipal law or section 176 of
 the town law.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 AN ACT relating to permitting the Setauket fire district to  enter  into
   contracts with the state university of New York at Stony Brook for the
   sale or donation of emergency equipment
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Notwithstanding sections 99-r and 103 of the general munic-
 ipal law and section 176 of the town law, the Setauket fire district may
 enter into agreements and/or contracts with the state university of  New
 York  at  Stony  Brook for the sale or donation of a fire truck or other
 emergency equipment.
