 Introduced  by  Sen. PERSAUD -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on  Energy  and  Telecommuni-
   cations
 
 AN  ACT  to  amend  the public authorities law, in relation to requiring
   electric vehicle charging stations and electric vehicle capable  park-
   ing spaces to accommodate wheelchair accessible electric vehicles

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 9-a of section 1005 of the  public  authorities
 law, as added by section 1 of part KK of chapter 58 of the laws of 2019,
 is amended to read as follows:
   9-a.  As  deemed  feasible  and  advisable by the trustees, to design,
 finance, develop, construct, install, lease, operate and maintain  elec-
 tric  vehicle  charging  stations  throughout  the  state for use by the
 public. SUCH ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING  STATIONS  SHALL  INCLUDE  SPACES
 THAT  ARE  LARGE  ENOUGH  TO  ACCOMMODATE WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ELECTRIC
 VEHICLES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, VANS AND MINIVANS. The authority
 shall annually post on their website a report on those activities under-
 taken pursuant to this subdivision, including but not  limited  to:  the
 total number of electric vehicle charging stations in operation pursuant
 to  such authorization, the locations of such charging stations, and the
 total costs to the authority associated with such activities.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
 have become a law.
