   printed to be committed to the Committee on Cities 1
 
 AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the  city  of  New  York,  in
   relation  to  promotions of police detectives, sergeants, and lieuten-
   ants for retirement purposes
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  14-114 of the administrative code of the city of
 New York is amended by adding a new subdivision d to read as follows:
   D. (1) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION OF LAW TO THE  CONTRARY,  WHEN  A
 DETECTIVE,  SERGEANT, OR LIEUTENANT SHALL HAVE ACCRUED TWENTY-FIVE YEARS
 OF SERVICE CREDIT WITH THE NEW YORK CITY POLICE PENSION FUND, THEY SHALL
 HAVE THEIR ANNUAL SALARY, IMPUTED FOR FINAL AVERAGE SALARY PURPOSES WITH
 THE NEW YORK CITY POLICE PENSION FUND, INCREASED AT THE RATE OF FIVE PER
 CENTUM FOR SUCH FINAL AVERAGE SALARY PERIOD;
   (2) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION OF  LAW  TO  THE  CONTRARY,  WHEN  A
 DETECTIVE,  SERGEANT,  OR  LIEUTENANT SHALL HAVE ACCRUED THIRTY YEARS OF
 SERVICE CREDIT WITH THE NEW YORK CITY POLICE PENSION  FUND,  THEY  SHALL
 HAVE THEIR ANNUAL SALARY, IMPUTED FOR FINAL AVERAGE SALARY PURPOSES WITH
 THE  NEW YORK CITY POLICE PENSION FUND, INCREASED AT THE RATE OF TEN PER
 CENTUM FOR SUCH FINAL AVERAGE SALARY PERIOD; OR
   (3) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION OF  LAW  TO  THE  CONTRARY,  WHEN  A
 DETECTIVE,  SERGEANT, OR LIEUTENANT SHALL HAVE ACCRUED THIRTY-FIVE YEARS
 OF SERVICE CREDIT WITH THE NEW YORK CITY POLICE PENSION FUND, THEY SHALL
 HAVE THEIR ANNUAL SALARY, IMPUTED FOR FINAL AVERAGE SALARY PURPOSES WITH
 THE NEW YORK CITY POLICE PENSION FUND, INCREASED AT THE RATE OF  FIFTEEN
 PER CENTUM FOR SUCH FINAL AVERAGE SALARY PERIOD.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
