 Introduced  by  Sen.  MAYER  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to the labeling of  medi-
   cation abortion prescription drugs
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Section 6810 of the education law is amended  by  adding  a
 new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
   1-A.  (A)  NOTWITHSTANDING  SUBDIVISION  ONE  OF  THIS SECTION, AT THE
 PRESCRIBER'S REQUEST, THE PRESCRIPTION  LABEL  FOR  MEDICATION  ABORTION
 PRESCRIPTION  DRUGS  MAY INCLUDE THE NAME OF THE PRESCRIBING HEALTH CARE
 PRACTICE INSTEAD OF THE NAME OF THE PRESCRIBER.
   (B)  FOR  THE  PURPOSES  OF  THIS  SUBDIVISION,  "MEDICATION  ABORTION
 PRESCRIPTION  DRUGS"  MEANS  SUBSTANCES  USED  IN  THE COURSE OF MEDICAL
 TREATMENT INTENDED TO INDUCE THE TERMINATION OF A  PREGNANCY  INCLUDING,
 BUT NOT LIMITED TO, MIFEPRISTONE AND MISOPROSTOL.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
