RAMOS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Labor AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to defining a day student for employment purposes THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 9 of section 511 of the labor law, as amended by chapter 1091 of the laws of 1969, is amended to read as follows: 9. Day student. The term "employment" does not include service SOLELY PERFORMED during [all or any part of the school year or] regular vaca- tion periods [as a part-time worker of] BY any person actually in regu- lar attendance [during the day time] as a student in an elementary or secondary school. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD02449-01-5
