PAULIN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development AN ACT to amend the arts and cultural affairs law, in relation to renam- ing agency building one, agency building two, agency building three and agency building four, located at the empire state plaza THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 11 of section 4.07 of the arts and cultural affairs law, as added by section 2 of part A of chapter 56 of the laws of 2008, is amended and a new subdivision 12 is added to read as follows: 11. To establish a program, in consultation with the commissioner of general services, for the promotion of the empire state plaza art collection to the public through such means as determined by the commis- sion to be appropriate, including, but not limited to, educational semi- nars, remote exhibitions, special events and the sale of souvenirs or mementos related to the collection. All receipts of the commission from promotional efforts shall be deposited in a state fiduciary fund, expenditures from which shall be limited to the purposes of the commis- sion set forth in this article[.]; 12. (A) IN COLLABORATION WITH THE COMMISSIONER OF THE OFFICE OF GENER- AL SERVICES, THE COMMISSION SHALL MAKE A RECOMMENDATION TO THE GOVERNOR ON THE NAMING OF AGENCY BUILDING ONE, AGENCY BUILDING TWO, AGENCY BUILD- ING THREE AND AGENCY BUILDING FOUR, LOCATED AT THE EMPIRE STATE PLAZA. THE COMMISSION SHALL SELECT FROM A LIST OF MAJOR RIVERS LOCATED IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK, WHICH SHALL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: (I) ST. LAWRENCE RIVER; (II) GENESEE RIVER; (III) ALLEGHANY RIVER; (IV) HUDSON RIVER; (V) NIAGARA RIVER; EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
