 AN ACT to amend the mental  hygiene  law,  in  relation  to  designating
   services  to be provided by a jail-based substance use disorder treat-
   ment, peer led recovery  support  services,  and  transition  services
   program as essential medical care services
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 19.18-c of the mental hygiene  law  is  amended  by
 adding a new subdivision 6 to read as follows:
   6.  SERVICES  TO  BE  PROVIDED  BY A JAIL-BASED SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER
 TREATMENT, PEER LED RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES, AND  TRANSITION  SERVICES
 PROGRAM  PURSUANT  TO  SUBDIVISION  TWO  OF THIS SECTION SHALL BE DEEMED
 ESSENTIAL MEDICAL CARE SERVICES.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
