Provides the prescription label for mifepristone or misoprostol may include the address of the dispensing health care practice and shall include the address of the prescribing health care practice at the prescriber's request; provides that a health care prescriber shall inform a patient if such prescriber has included or has requested to include the name or address of the prescribing health care practice instead of the name of such prescriber on the prescription label when prescribing mifepristone or misoprostol.

REYES -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT to amend the education law and the public health law, in relation to prescription labels for mifepristone and misoprostol THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph b-1 of subdivision 1 of section 6807 of the education law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the education law relating to the labeling of mifepristone, misoprostol, and their generic alternatives, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 36-A and A. 2145-A, is amended to read as follows: b-1. Notwithstanding paragraph b of this section, the prescription label for mifepristone[,] OR misoprostol[, and their generic alterna- tives] may include the name OR ADDRESS of the dispensing health care practice instead of the name of the dispenser. § 2. Subdivision 1-a of section 6810 of the education law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the education law relating to the labeling of mifepristone, misoprostol, and their generic alternatives, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 36-A and A. 2145-A, is amended to read as follows: 1-a. Notwithstanding subdivision one of this section, at the prescriber's request, the prescription label for mifepristone[,] OR misoprostol[, and their generic alternatives may] SHALL include the name OR ADDRESS of the prescribing health care practice instead of the name of the prescriber. § 3. The public health law is amended by adding a new section 280-d to read as follows: § 280-D. PATIENT NOTIFICATION OF PRESCRIPTION LABEL CHANGE. A HEALTH CARE PRESCRIBER SHALL INFORM THE PATIENT IF SUCH PRESCRIBER HAS INCLUDED OR HAS REQUESTED TO INCLUDE THE NAME OR ADDRESS OF THE PRESCRIBING EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
