EACHUS -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to enacting the "MTA board member attendance act" THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Short title. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "MTA board member attendance act". § 2. Subdivision 3 of section 1263 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new paragraph (e) to read as follows: (E) IN ORDER TO CAST A VOTE ON PROPOSED FARE HIKES, A BOARD MEMBER SHALL ATTEND A MAJORITY OF PUBLIC HEARINGS. § 3. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09923-01-5
