PALMESANO, SIMPSON -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to permitting animal-drawn vehicles to equip and use amber flashing lights THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 376 of the vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new subdivision 5 to read as follows: 5. ANIMAL-DRAWN VEHICLES SHALL BE PERMITTED TO BE EQUIPPED WITH, AND TO OPERATE, AMBER FLASHING LIGHTS OF THE KIND USED BY HAZARD VEHICLES WHILE IN USE AND WHILE PARKED. THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUBDIVISION SHALL NOT APPLY IN A CITY WITH A POPULATION OF ONE MILLION OR MORE. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
