S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 6948 2025-2026 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y March 18, 2025 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. BRONSON -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Labor AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to the number of hours which constitute a work week THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The labor law is amended by adding a new section 160-a to read as follows: § 160-A. HOURS TO CONSTITUTE A WEEK'S WORK. 1. UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY LAW, FOR ALL EMPLOYEES, EXCEPT THOSE ENGAGED IN FARM WORK AND THOSE AFFECTED BY SUBDIVISION FOUR OF SECTION TWO HUNDRED TWENTY OF THIS CHAPTER, THIRTY-TWO HOURS SHALL CONSTITUTE A LEGAL WEEK'S WORK. 2. THIS SECTION SHALL NOT PREVENT AN AGREEMENT FOR OVERWORK AT AN INCREASED COMPENSATION, EXCEPT UPON WORK BY OR FOR THE STATE OR A MUNIC- IPAL CORPORATION, OR BY CONTRACTORS OR SUBCONTRACTORS THEREWITH, AND EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS CHAPTER. § 2.
