PEOPLES-STOKES -- read once and referred to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to eligibility for paratransit services THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1299-f of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new subdivision 8 to read as follows: 8. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISIONS OF LAW, OR THE TERMS OF ANY CONTRACT, WHERE THE AUTHORITY OFFERS PARATRANSIT SERVICE TO PROVIDE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES OR HEALTH CONDITIONS THAT PREVENT THEM FROM USING THE PUBLIC BUSES AND RAILROAD OPERATED BY THE AUTHORITY FOR SOME OR ALL OF THEIR TRIPS, SUCH PARATRANSIT SERVICE SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE AT THE SAME FARES FOR INDI- VIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES OR HEALTH CONDITIONS WHO ARE ABLE TO UTILIZE THE PUBLIC BUSES AND RAILROAD OPERATED BY THE AUTHORITY. § 2.
