COMMEMORATING the 25th Anniversary of CNY BMX on
September 21, 2024
WHEREAS, Certain organizations empower communities to attract new
visitors while capitalizing on local commercial and cultural value; CNY
BMX is one such corporation, positively impacting the economy and those
it serves; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
support events of significance which contribute to the entertainment and
vitality of the communities they serve and which exemplify the history
and development of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of CNY BMX to be celebrated on
Saturday, September 21, 2024; and
WHEREAS, The CNY BMX track is built on land owned by the Town of
Bridgewater, New York, and is run by a self-supporting non-profit
organization; all funds collected through registration, concession, and
raffles are used to keep the track operational and safe; and
WHEREAS, The track is operated by The Central New York BMX Parent's
Association, Inc.; all parents and riders over the age of 18 are
considered members of the association and are encouraged to attend its
monthly meetings held on the second Wednesday of every month where they
discuss scheduling of events, track maintenance, repairs and more; and
WHEREAS, The CNY BMX tracks are a thoughtfully designed and
meticulously groomed race course; from the two-year old learning to
balance on the Strider pushbike, to the expert athlete flying over the
obstacles with the greatest of ease, to the seasoned rider who still
digs the rush of the ride, every track has something fun for every level
of rider; big or small, novice or expert, you ride at your own speed;
and
WHEREAS, Through numerous track events, CNY BMX provides a lucrative
economic impact on the Town of Bridgewater and neighboring communities,
providing entertainment and enjoyment for the riders and spectators who
travel nationally and internationally to witness exciting experiences
that will thrill BMX fans for generations to come; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those organizations that have brought entertainment and cultural
enrichment to the citizens of the State of New York; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of CNY BMX; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to CNY BMX.
