CONGRATULATING Investigator Mark VanNamee upon the
occasion of his retirement from the Oneida County
Sheriff's Office after 25 years of highly decorated
service

WHEREAS, Law enforcement officers from the State of New York put
their lives on the line day in and day out for the citizens of this
great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those distinguished officers who would devote themselves to public
service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing for the
care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this great
Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
deserve the respect and admiration of their community for their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; Mark VanNamee
is one such individual; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Investigator Mark VanNamee upon the occasion of his retirement from the
Oneida County Sheriff's Office after 25 years of highly decorated
service; and

WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career in law enforcement,
Investigator Mark VanNamee was the recipient of numerous awards and
commendations including the Good Conduct Award (5 times), Presidential
Detail Citation, Exceptional Service (2 times), Ready Commendation,
Gallantry Star, Grand Cordon (12 times), Promotion of Grade, Meritorious
Service, Honorable Service, Letters of Commendation (3 times), and
numerous letters of appreciation; and

WHEREAS, For 25 years, Mark VanNamee rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to the Oneida County Sheriff's
Office, earning the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues;
and

WHEREAS, Investigator Mark VanNamee, with his proficient leadership
and love for the Oneida County, truly epitomized the roll of a community
police officer; he tirelessly and selflessly served the residents of his
beloved community with compassion, integrity, and fairness, attributes
which will forever serve as an example for his fellow officers; and

WHEREAS, The great State of New York is fortunate to have brave
public servants like Investigator Mark VanNamee who risk their lives in
the line of duty each day to protect the residents of our communities;
no greater debt is owed than that owed to those who are willing to put
service over self; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the

preservation of order and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Investigator Mark VanNamee upon the occasion of his
retirement, and to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Investigator Mark VanNamee.
