COMMENDING the Greater New York Chapter of The
Links, Incorporated upon the occasion of hosting its
Annual Spring Luncheon on April 12, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those organizations of high purpose and worthy accomplishment
whose efforts have positively impacted the lives of individuals and
families throughout the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend the Greater New York Chapter of The Links, Incorporated upon the
occasion of hosting its Annual Spring Luncheon, to be held on Saturday,
April 12, 2025, at Chelsea Piers; and

WHEREAS, Established in 1946 as the first Links chapter in the State
of New York, the Greater New York Chapter of The Links, Inc. has
consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service,
excellence, and the advancement of social change through advocacy,
philanthropy, and community engagement; and

WHEREAS, The Annual Spring Luncheon stands as a hallmark event
celebrating a legacy of empowerment, culture, and fellowship, while
raising critical funds to sustain and expand the Chapter's
transformative programs; and

WHEREAS, This year's luncheon will further strengthen The Links'
commitment to maternal health, financial empowerment, and education,
ensuring continued support for vital initiatives, including The Dr.
Marcella Maxwell and Betty King Obiajulu Scholarship Program, which
provides educational opportunities for promising students; and

WHEREAS, Through its distinguished history of leadership and impact,
the Greater New York Chapter of The Links, Inc. has uplifted countless
individuals, fostered partnerships, and championed social justice,
leaving an indelible mark on communities across New York; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is moved to recognize and applaud the
extraordinary contributions of the Greater New York Chapter of The
Links,

Inc., and to extend best wishes for a successful and memorable Spring
Luncheon; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Greater New York Chapter of The Links, Incorporated upon the
occasion of hosting its Annual Spring Luncheon on April 12, 2025, and to
celebrate its continued dedication to service and excellence; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Greater New York Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
