COMMEMORATING the 100th Anniversary of the
Healthcare Association of New York State,
recognizing its role in advancing the health of New
York's individuals and communities

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
institutions which have faithfully served the health needs of the
community and its citizens with unwavering diligence, unrelenting
compassion, and a strong sense of commitment to upholding the highest
practices and standards in their field; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Healthcare Association of New
York State (HANYS), recognizing its role in advancing the health of New
York's individuals and communities; and

WHEREAS, The Healthcare Association of New York State (then Hospital
Association of New York) was first established in 1925; and

WHEREAS, HANYS began as an all-volunteer, committee-run organization
focused on hospital leaders' state legislative concerns; and

WHEREAS, Over several decades, HANYS expanded to advocate on
national matters, serve member organizations across the healthcare
continuum, and provide those members additional operational, analytical,
and educational services; and

WHEREAS, Today, HANYS' statewide nonprofit and public member
organizations include hospitals, health systems, nursing homes, home
care agencies, and other providers that serve nearly 20 million New
Yorkers and visitors from around the world; and

WHEREAS, The Healthcare Association of New York State's mission is
to advance the health of individuals and communities by providing
leadership, representation, and service to its members; and

WHEREAS, HANYS addresses patient and provider priorities such as
access to affordable, quality care, workforce development, community
health, emergency preparedness, innovation, and more; and

WHEREAS, The Healthcare Association of New York State is celebrating
its centennial anniversary in 2025; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body recognizes the vital importance of
the Healthcare Association of New York State in supporting excellence in
care through prevention, education and treatment, and its evident
commitment to this mission; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Healthcare Association of New
York State, recognizing its role in advancing the health of New York's
individuals and communities; and be it further


RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Healthcare Association of New York State.
