CONGRATULATING the Wheatley School upon the
occasion of earning the Seal of Biliteracy Super
Veteran badge from the New York State Education
Department Office of Bilingual Education and World
Languages

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of true purpose and high achievement whose
exemplary programs and accomplishment clearly demonstrate an enduring
pursuit of excellence in the education of the youth of the Empire State;
and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the Wheatley School upon the occasion of earning the Seal
of Biliteracy Super Veteran badge from the New York State Education
Department Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages; and

WHEREAS, The Seal of Biliteracy Super Veteran badge, awarded by the
New York State Education Department Office of Bilingual Education and
World Languages, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated
exceptional proficiency in more than one language; and

WHEREAS, This prestigious honor highlights the dedication and skill
of those who have not only achieved a high level of bilingualism but
have consistently excelled in using their language abilities throughout
their educational journey; and

WHEREAS, Furthermore, the Super Veteran badge celebrates their
ongoing commitment to language learning and cultural enrichment, marking
them as role models in the bilingual community; and

WHEREAS, The Wheatley School is proud to be recognized as one of
only two districts in the State of New York to earn the Seal of
Biliteracy Super Veteran badge from the New York State Education
Department Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages; this
extraordinary school has offered students the opportunity to earn the
prestigious New York State Seal of Biliteracy for more than ten years;
and

WHEREAS, Located in Old Westbury, New York, the Wheatley School is a
highly regarded public high school known for its academic excellence and
commitment to fostering a well-rounded education; part of the East
Williston Union Free School District, Wheatley offers a rigorous
curriculum that prepares students for success in both higher education
and beyond; and

WHEREAS, With a strong emphasis on academic achievement,
extracurricular involvement, and community engagement, The Wheatley
School has earned a reputation for nurturing students who are not only
intellectually curious but also compassionate, responsible citizens; and

WHEREAS, The Wheatley School has continually demonstrated an
impressive dedication, an unparalleled devotion and an unremitting
enthusiasm for the quality of educational programs and opportunities
offered for the benefit of its faculty and students as well as for the
entire community; and

WHEREAS, The New York State Seal of Biliteracy stands as a resolute
testimony to the Wheatley School's standards of excellence, its
uncompromising values, unparalleled dedication, and the special teamwork
of its family of students, parents, teachers and administrators, who
share common goals and uncommon expectations; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the Wheatley School upon the occasion of earning the Seal
of Biliteracy Super Veteran badge from the New York State Education
Department Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Wheatley School, Old Westbury, New York.
