CONGRATULATING Felicia Garramone upon the occasion
of winning first-place in the prestigious
International Piano Competition "Andret Stoyanov" in
Sofia, Bulgaria

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
dedication and commitment of our young people who distinguish themselves
through excellence in musical competition; and

WHEREAS, Music competition provides an opportunity for students to
exhibit their practical skills to an audience, thereby giving them a
sense of pride in their hard work and efforts; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Felicia Garramone upon the occasion of winning first-place
in the prestigious International Piano Competition "Andret Stoyanov" in
Sofia, Bulgaria; and

WHEREAS, A junior at General Douglas MacArthur High School in the
Levittown School District, Felicia Garramone began playing the piano at
the age of four and quickly progressed through the NYSSMA levels,
achieving Level 6 with a score of 100 in fifth grade; and

WHEREAS, Felicia Garramone subsequently began competing in online
and in-person competitions, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic; in
eighth grade, she earned first place in a competition which allowed her
to perform at Carnegie Hall; and

WHEREAS, In addition to piano, Felicia Garramone has played the
cello since third grade and has been consistently selected for the
All-County and LISFA programs throughout her elementary school years; by
eighth grade, she also completed NYSSMA Level 6 with a score of 100; and

WHEREAS, During her sophomore year, Felicia Garramone auditioned for
All-State and received a perfect score of 100; in December 2024, she was
privileged to perform with the All-State Orchestra in Rochester; and

WHEREAS, Felicia Garramone's remarkable achievements in both piano
and cello exemplify her exceptional talent, dedication, and passion for
music; with a bright future ahead, her musical achievements highlight
her relentless drive for excellence; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Felicia Garramone upon the occasion of winning first-place
in the prestigious International Piano Competition "Andret Stoyanov" in
Sofia, Bulgaria; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Felicia Garramone.
