HONORING Pastor Geraldine Felix upon the occasion
of her designation for special recognition at the
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala on
March 9, 2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor individuals whose faith, leadership, and service have uplifted
communities and inspired generations; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Pastor Geraldine Felix upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala, to
be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in celebration of Women's History
Month under the theme "Women of Destiny"; and

WHEREAS, Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1962, Geraldine Felix was
drawn to a life of faith and prayer from an early age, beginning her
spiritual journey at just nine years old, when she would ascend the
mountains to pray; and

WHEREAS, At the age of 13, Geraldine Felix immigrated to the United
States, where she overcame the challenges of adapting to a new country
while excelling in her education, attending Andries Hudde Middle School,
Midwood High School, and CUNY City College; and

WHEREAS, In 1982, at a prayer meeting, Geraldine Felix experienced a
divine encounter that led her to fully surrender to her faith and answer
the call to evangelism, sharing the Gospel throughout Brooklyn's
streets, public buses, and trains, and serving in Remsen Church of God;
and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Felix's unwavering devotion led her to Boston,
where she earned a degree from the School of Architecture while
continuing her spiritual work; recognizing a spiritual void in New
Hampshire, she established a prayer group that flourished into a church,
laying the foundation for a lifetime of ministry; and

WHEREAS, In 1993, Pastor Geraldine Felix married Reverend Joseph N.
Felix, and together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and
service, raising their three children-Kestia, Daniella, and
Benjamin-while establishing a church in Manchester, New Hampshire; and

WHEREAS, Returning to Brooklyn in 1998, the couple founded a new
church, initially located on Snyder Avenue and Church Avenue, before
moving to its current location on Flatbush Avenue, where Pastor
Geraldine Felix has faithfully served in ministry for over 25 years as a
First Lady, mentor, and intercessor; and

WHEREAS, In 2022, Pastor Geraldine Felix earned a degree in theology
from MKI University, further deepening her commitment to spiritual
scholarship and service; in 2023, she celebrated her 60th birthday at El

Caribe in Brooklyn, a milestone marked by her ordination as a pastor by
her husband; and

WHEREAS, Known as a "Prayer Warrior", Pastor Geraldine Felix
embodies the scripture "Pray without ceasing," living a life of
unwavering faith, devotion, and action; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Geraldine Felix's ministerial journey has extended
beyond the United States, with missions in Boston, Haiti, and the
Dominican Republic, spreading the message of hope, faith, and
perseverance across borders; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Geraldine Felix's dedication to faith, service, and
leadership serves as an enduring testament to the power of prayer and
the impact of a life committed to uplifting others; now, therefore, be
it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Pastor Geraldine Felix upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards
Gala, commending her for her profound contributions to ministry and
community service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Pastor Geraldine Felix.
