HONORING Chief Christopher Foresto, M.D. upon the
occasion of his designation for special recognition
after 35 years of dedicated service to the Jericho
Volunteer Fire Department
WHEREAS, The firefighters of New York State are renowned throughout
the Nation; their reputation is synonymous with excellence in the
arduous field of fire protection and prevention; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Chief
Christopher Foresto, M.D. upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition after 35 years of dedicated service to the Jericho
Volunteer Fire Department at its 91st Annual Installation of Officers on
Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Crescent Beach Club, Bayville, New York; and
WHEREAS, Volunteer firefighters and fire departments not only
provide the critical service of fire protection but also engage in other
activities of great benefit and importance to the communities they
serve; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Foresto has performed his duties according to
the Jericho Volunteer Fire Department's mission to provide prompt,
professional, fire and emergency response to the hamlet of Jericho and
the surrounding area, and his efforts have been recognized through his
promotion to chief; and
WHEREAS, As an active leader in both the department and community,
Christopher Foresto has consistently demonstrated a level of commitment,
dedication, integrity, and professionalism that exemplifies excellence
in the volunteer service; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure at the Jericho Volunteer Fire
Department, Christopher Foresto has served in various capacities,
including service as lieutenant and captain for Engine Company 3 and
service as 2nd Assistant Chief, 1st Assistant Chief, and Department
Chief; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Foresto has demonstrated his active commitment
and desire to succeed by attending numerous trainings, meetings,
conferences, and conventions; those who have the pleasure of engaging
with Christopher Foresto can attest to his kind nature and willingness
to share his vast knowledge and experiences with others; and
WHEREAS, Beyond the firehouse, Christopher Foresto is devoted to his
loving wife Lindsy and his three children, Michael, James, and William,
and he has gracefully balanced the demands of his family, surgical
career, and volunteer fire department service in addition to
volunteering for the board of education in Jericho schools; and
WHEREAS, It takes a special dedication, a strong desire to help
others, and a tireless sense of community to forsake precious time with
family and friends to respond to the signal that a neighbor is in need;
Christopher Foresto is such a firefighter; throughout 35 years of
dedicated service, this volunteer heroically performed, above and beyond
the call of duty, those responsibilities which define the task of fire
protection; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Chief Christopher Foresto, M.D. upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition after 35 years of dedicated service
to the Jericho Volunteer Fire Department; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Chief Christopher Foresto, M.D.
