CONGRATULATING the Nassau County Village Officials
Association upon the occasion of celebrating its
100th Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
and celebrate outstanding organizations that work to promote the
wellbeing of the citizens of the State of New York with unwavering
diligence and unrelenting compassion; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the Nassau County Village Officials Association upon the
occasion of celebrating its 100th Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Nassau County Village Officials Association (NCVOA),
established in 1925, represents the 64 incorporated villages of Nassau
County, New York, collectively serving approximately 475,000 residents;
and

WHEREAS, The NCVOA was created to encourage and stimulate
cooperation among its member villages for their mutual benefit and
welfare; and

WHEREAS, For the past century, the NCVOA has been, and continues to
be dedicated to: providing village officials with a forum for exchanging
ideas and experiences in the administration of their municipal duties;
developing educational programs and conferences to assist village
officials with implementing their civic responsibilities; studying and
discussing initiatives that benefit the public safety, health, and
welfare of the villages governed by these officials; and investigating
and discussing the most efficient means and methods of village
government; and

WHEREAS, For the past several decades, Nassau County's villages have
worked collaboratively to increase efficiency and reduce costs by
forging inter-municipal agreements with one another, as well as with
towns and Nassau County, to share services, personnel, and equipment;
and

WHEREAS, Through this spirit of partnership and innovation, Nassau
County villages continue to provide some of the most efficient and
cost-effective municipal services to their residents; and

WHEREAS, For 100 years, the NCVOA has championed the interests of
village government, provided support to elected officials, and promoted
the values of strong, responsive local governance; and

WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional organization and its role in improving the
quality of life in its community, fully confident that it will continue
to enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
extend its heartfelt congratulations to the Nassau County Village
Officials Association upon the occasion of celebrating its 100th
Anniversary; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Nassau County Village Officials Association.
