COMMENDING the Institute for Community Living upon
the occasion of hosting its Annual Gala on May 14,
2025

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those organizations whose commitment and dedication to the
well-being of others have significantly enhanced the quality of life for
individuals and families across the State of New York; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is proud to honor the
Institute for Community Living upon the occasion of hosting its Annual
Gala on Wednesday, May 14, 2025; and

WHEREAS, Founded in 1986, the Institute for Community Living (ICL)
has grown into one of New York State's most impactful human services
organizations, providing vital housing, health, and behavioral support
services to more than 13,000 individuals and families, throughout the
five boroughs, annually; and

WHEREAS, The 2025 Gala serves not only as a celebration of ICL's
enduring mission but also as a critical fundraiser to advance its work
in addressing mental health challenges, homelessness, developmental
disabilities, and substance use disorders, all while affirming the
dignity and potential of every person it serves; and

WHEREAS, Under the steadfast leadership of President and CEO Jody
Rudin, ICL has been at the forefront of person-centered, trauma-informed
care with innovative programming that breaks down silos between mental
and physical health and promotes long-term wellness and recovery; and

WHEREAS, The theme of the 2025 Gala, "Together, We Heal,"
underscores ICL's deep belief in the power of community, compassion, and
collaborative action to restore hope and rebuild lives; and

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to recognize the outstanding
contributions of ICL to the social fabric of the State of New York and
celebrate the organization's unwavering commitment to building a more
equitable and supportive society for all; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Institute for Community Living, upon the occasion of hosting
its Annual Gala on May 14, 2025, and to commend the organization for
nearly four decades of transformative service; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jody Rudin, President and CEO of the Institute for
Community Living.
