MOURNING the death of Leah Caro, distinguished
citizen and devoted member of her community

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and this
great Empire State; and

WHEREAS, Leah Caro died on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the age of 56;
and

WHEREAS, Leah Caro distinguished herself in her profession and by
her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
her community; and

WHEREAS, One of Leah Caro's strongest passions was advocacy, and she
led delegations to advance real estate initiatives in Washington, D.C.,
and at the annual Lobby Day program in Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Those who had the pleasure of working with Leah Caro
highlight her positive spirit, sense of humor, commitment to improving
the real estate industry, and dedication to promoting affordable
housing; and

WHEREAS, With a desire to utilize her natural leadership skills and
further her advocacy, Leah Caro served diligently as a Board Director
for the New York State Association of Realtors from 2008 to 2015; and

WHEREAS, Recognized as a respected leader and voice for WPAR and
HGAR with Hudson Valley Congressional members, State legislators, and
municipal officials, Leah Caro received the WPAR Realtor of the Year
Award in 2011, the HGAR President's Award in 2013, and the New York
State Association of Realtors Alan Yassky Distinguished Service Award in
2023; and

WHEREAS, Leah Caro's commitment to excellence, and her spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including
charitable and civic endeavors; and

WHEREAS, Leah Caro possessed a deep-rooted sense of community, she
frequently participated in local charitable events and initiatives,
ranging from volunteer work at community centers to supporting local
youth through educational programs; she strove to devote much of her
time to improve the lives of others in Bronxville and surrounding
communities; and

WHEREAS, Married to her beloved husband Doug and mother to her
cherished son Joe, Leah Caro was a beacon of light to those around her,
and she was always ready to lend an ear and offer words of
encouragement; and

WHEREAS, Family was one of the strongest pillars in Leah Caro's
life, and some of her most cherished moments were those spent with
family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Leah Caro is survived by her husband Doug and son Joe; and

WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Leah Caro leaves behind a legacy which will long endure the
passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all she served
and befriended; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Leah Caro, distinguished citizen and devoted member
of her community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Leah Caro.
