HONORING Scott Medole upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Volunteer of the
Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce on
March 21, 2024
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those distinguished individuals and businesses which contribute
substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Scott Medole upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Volunteer of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce, to be
celebrated at its 52nd Annual Awards Gala on Thursday, March 20, 2024;
and
WHEREAS, Service to community and country is the foundation of our
society, and the contributions and efforts of those individuals in
service to them are a vital part of, and invaluable asset to, the fabric
of our State and Nation; Scott Medole is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, Scott Medole has been a citizen of Clarence, New York for
nearly 50 years; he graduated from Clarence High School in 1980, and
later, SUNY Fredonia in 1984, where he received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Administration before serving his country in the
United States Air Force as an emergency room medic; and
WHEREAS, After his honorable discharge in 1989, Scott Medole
returned to Clarence and became involved in his family's insurance
business, working alongside his parents Norman and Nancy Emerling; and
WHEREAS, Chosen for such a prestigious recognition by the Clarence
Chamber of Commerce for his unwavering commitment to community service,
Scott Medole has been a dedicated member of the Harris Hill Volunteer
Fire Company for the past 40 years; he serves in this capacity as a
second-generation fireman and is Co-Chaplain of the fire company; and
WHEREAS, Further, Scott Medole is an active member of the Clarence
Chamber of Commerce, past original member of Eastern Hills Sunrise
Rotary Club, supporter of local credit unions North Towns and Niagara's
Choice, and is a tireless promotor of community events and businesses;
he also gives his time serving as a ride medic for various local bicycle
groups in the area; and
WHEREAS, Scott Medole contributes much of his passion for giving
back to his faith, serving as a hospitality minister at Nativity of the
Blessed Virgin Mary Church; and
WHEREAS, In his leisure time, Scott Medole enjoys spending time
outdoors; he stays active by biking, playing pickleball, skiing,
golfing, fishing, hunting, and hiking the Adirondack High Peaks; he
additionally loves playing euchre and spending quality time with his
family; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Scott Medole upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of
the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Scott Medole.
