BILL NUMBER: S4411 SPONSOR: COMRIE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to tickets purchased for the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Company PURPOSE: This bill requires the MTA establish and maintain a transferable City Ticket between Metro North, the Long Island Rail Road, and the Subways and Buses. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 adds 1266-n to the public authorities law to direct the Metro- politan Transportation Authority develop and implement a weekly and monthly ticket valid for optional, discounted transfers between LIRR, Metro North, and NYCTA subways and buses.

COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to tickets purchased for the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Commuter Railroad Company THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new section 1266-n to read as follows: § 1266-N. LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD AND METRO-NORTH COMMUTER RAILROAD COMPANY; TRANSFERS TO NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, GENERAL, SPECIAL OR LOCAL, THE AUTHORITY, IN CONJUNC- TION WITH THE NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT AUTHORITY, SHALL DEVELOP AND IMPLE- MENT A WEEKLY AND A MONTHLY TICKET VALID FOR OPTIONAL, DISCOUNTED TRANS- FERS BETWEEN THE LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD AND THE METRO-NORTH COMMUTER RAILROAD COMPANY TO THE NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT AUTHORITY SUBWAYS AND BUSES. § 2. The public authorities law is amended by adding a new section 1219-b to read as follows: § 1219-B. AUTHORITY; TRANSFERS TO LONG ISLAND RAILROAD AND METRO-NORTH COMMUTER RAILROAD COMPANY. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW, GENERAL, SPECIAL OR LOCAL, THE AUTHORITY, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE METRO- POLITAN TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY, SHALL DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT A WEEKLY AND A MONTHLY TICKET VALID FOR OPTIONAL, DISCOUNTED TRANSFERS BETWEEN THE AUTHORITY SUBWAYS AND BUSES TO THE LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD AND THE METRO-NORTH COMMUTER RAILROAD COMPANY. § 3.
