BILL NUMBER: S4945 SPONSOR: COMRIE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public authorities law, in relation to requiring certain reports of public authorities are published via the public authorities reporting information system PURPOSE: To increase transparency and accessibility to certain information that public authorities are required to report, and make it readily available to the public rather than the current mechanism of access that exists today. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 and 2 Amend Sections 2800 and 2801 of the public authorities law to require annual reports and budget reports that public authorities are required to submit to the Authorities Budget Office to be made available to the public on the Public Authorities Reporting Information

COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to requiring certain reports of public authorities are published via the public authorities reporting information system THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2800 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new subdivision 5 to read as follows: 5. THE ANNUAL REPORTS REQUIRED BY THIS SECTION SHALL BE PUBLISHED VIA THE PUBLIC AUTHORITIES REPORTING INFORMATION SYSTEM AND SHALL NOT REQUIRE LOGIN CREDENTIALS TO ACCESS. § 2. Section 2801 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new subdivision 4 to read as follows: 4. THE BUDGET REPORTS REQUIRED BY THIS SECTION SHALL BE PUBLISHED VIA THE PUBLIC AUTHORITIES REPORTING INFORMATION SYSTEM AND SHALL NOT REQUIRE LOGIN CREDENTIALS TO ACCESS. § 3. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
