BILL NUMBER: S7245 SPONSOR: LANZA TITLE OF BILL: An act to repeal section 265.37 of the penal law relating to large capacity ammunition feeding devices PURPOSE: Relates to resisting arrest. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Amends section 205.30 of the Penal Law to make resisting arrest a class E felony. Section 2. Amends Section 150.20 of the Criminal Procedure Law to add resisting arrest to the list of E felonies and violations which a police officer may arrest someone for instead of issuing an appearance ticket. Section 3.Effective date

Section 265.37 of the penal law is REPEALED. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
