Special laws and local ordinances

§ 275. Special laws and local ordinances. The requirements of sections
two hundred and seventy to two hundred and seventy-four, inclusive, are
not in substitution for the requirements of any general or special law
or local ordinance relating to the construction, equipment or
maintenance of buildings, but the provisions of such general and special
laws and local ordinances shall be observed as well as the provisions of
said sections. The provisions of sections two hundred and seventy to two
hundred and seventy-four, inclusive, shall supersede all provisions
inconsistent therewith in any special law or local ordinance, and any
provision of law or ordinance which gives power to any officer to
establish requirements inconsistent with the provisions of such sections
or the rules adopted by the board under the provisions of this chapter.
