Meetings of trustees
Religious Corporations (RCO) CHAPTER 51, ARTICLE 17
§ 328. Meetings of trustees. Meetings of the trustees of an
incorporated United Methodist church may be held at stated intervals or
may be called by giving at least twenty-four hours notice thereof
personally or by mail to all trustees and such meeting may be called and
such notice given by the pastor, the secretary of the board of trustees,
or by any two of the trustees, but by the unanimous consent of the
trustees a meeting may be held without previous notice thereof. Some
member of the board of trustees elected for that purpose shall be
president or chairman, or the pastor may preside without vote. A
majority of the whole number of trustees shall constitute a quorum for
the transaction of business at any meeting lawfully convened. In case of
a tie vote at a meeting of the trustees, the presiding officer of such
meeting, if he be a trustee, shall, notwithstanding he has voted once,
have an additional casting vote, or, if the presiding officer be the
pastor, the secretary of the board shall have the additional casting
vote.
