Volunteer Firefighters' Benefit (VOL) CHAPTER 64-A, ARTICLE 2
§ 6. Volunteer firefighters' benefits; general. If a volunteer
firefighter dies from the effects of injury in line of duty, or if such
a firefighter shall be injured in line of duty, benefits shall be paid
and provided pursuant to this chapter, except that there shall be no
liability for such benefits when the injury has been solely occasioned
by intoxication of the volunteer firefighter while acting in line of
duty or by the wilful intention of the volunteer firefighter to bring
about the injury or death of himself or herself or another.
