LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Peter A. Lo Cascio upon the occasion of
his designation by Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn as the recipient of its
Russell Edward Bonanno Lifetime Achievement Award on March 19, 2009

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen
field of endeavor, in their community, or through a lifetime of good
citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to
commend Peter A. Lo Cascio upon the occasion of his designation by Adel-
phi Academy of Brooklyn as the recipient of its Russell Edward Bonanno
Lifetime Achievement Award; and
WHEREAS, Peter A. Lo Cascio will be honored at the school's 2009 Pres-
ident's Gala and Silent Auction, Celebrating 145 Years of Educational
Excellence, to be held at El Caribe Country Club in Brooklyn on Thurs-
day, March 19, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1863, Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn is the oldest
private co-educational college preparatory day school in Brooklyn, and
one of the oldest in the nation, and has a proud tradition of a strong
Pre-Kindergarten through 12th Grade educational program; and
WHEREAS, Each year at its President's Gala, the Adelphi Academy of
Brooklyn proudly honors outstanding members of the Adelphi Academy fami-
ly and community who exemplify and support its mission and whose lives
and accomplishments exemplify the tenets of the school; and
WHEREAS, Peter A. Lo Cascio, Adelphi Academy Director of Finance and
founder of The Tuscan Guide, Nova Marketing and numerous other compa-
nies, truly merits such recognition; and
WHEREAS, A Brooklyn native, Peter A. Lo Cascio attended the New York
University School of Engineering, Stevens Institute of Technology, Adel-
phi University, and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania
and went on to become an extremely successful, creative, ground-breaking
businessman; and
WHEREAS, In 1972, Peter Lo Cascio founded Systemedics of Long Island,
Inc., a medical practice management company which provided services to
health care providers; in 1974, he established Professional Computer
Systems, Inc., which designed and installed fully computerized programs
for the individual practitioner and large HMO's and, in 1975, he set up
Complete Credit Services, Inc. (CCS, Inc.) to provide credit and
collection services to a broad range of medical institutions based in
the Long Island area; and
WHEREAS, In 1996, he founded the National Credit Group, Inc. (NCG,
Inc.), a fully interactive internet website designed to offer credit
management services to various industry associations whose client list
grew to include many Fortune 500 companies and financial institutions
such as Fleet Bank and US Bancorp; in 2001, NCG, Inc. received signif-
icant venture capital funds to expand the site's infrastructure and
become the web's premier site for credit evaluation; and
WHEREAS, Internet Computer Design, Inc., created in 1998, developed
the first internet-based payroll reporting system for CBS, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, The following year, in 1999, Peter Lo Cascio initiated the
Executive Network, a group of top executives who met weekly, and
referred clients in need of various professional services to one another
or to other appropriate experts; and
WHEREAS, In 2005, he founded Nova Marketing, L.L.C., a professional
consulting company specializing in financial planning, business plans,
and mergers and acquisitions consulting and implementation; also in

2005, he became involved in Kidz N Keyboardz, Inc., a not-for-profit
educational system company providing a new method for young children to
learn how to touch type; and
WHEREAS, In 2008, Peter Lo Cascio introduced The Tuscan Guide, L.L.C.,
to promote the gastronomic and cultural wonders of Tuscan cooking via a
website which reviews restaurants and various regions of Tuscany, empha-
sizing their culture and history; The Tuscan Guide also represents such
individuals as MaryAnn Esposito, the host of the famous television cook-
ing show "Ciao Italia," which has been shown on the Public Broadcasting
Station (PBS) network for 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Peter Lo Cascio has, in addition, written many articles for
trade publications and is a featured writer in THE COUNSELOR MAGAZINE,
distributed worldwide to more than 25,000 companies; he has also
authored a credit manual entitled WHO GETS THE CREDIT, considered by
many in the industry to be a definitive study of good credit management,
and is often invited to lead seminars and lectures on credit topics at
various trade shows and to speak at private and corporate events; and
WHEREAS, Peter Lo Cascio began providing financial consulting services
to Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn in 2008 and in February of this year,
2009, he was asked to assume the responsibilities of Adelphi's Director
of Finance and to assist in the reorganization of the Academy's corpo-
rate structure, sharing his vast experience and expertise to help the
school plan for its future; and
WHEREAS, With Peter Lo Cascio throughout have been Connie, his wife of
44 years, their children, Valerie and Robert, and their grandchildren,
Gabriella and Giuliana, all of whom are proud to be part of his life and
rejoice in his many accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Conferral of this Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn high honor is a
well-deserved and fitting recognition of his many achievements and
contributions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Peter A. Lo Cascio upon the occasion of his designation by Adel-
phi Academy of Brooklyn as the recipient of its Russell Edward Bonanno
Lifetime Achievement Award on March 19, 2009; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Peter A. Lo Cascio.
