LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the life of Daniel Patalino, Jr.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to bring full recogni-
tion and just tribute to individuals who distinguish themselves through
their unremitting commitment and preeminence of service; one such indi-
vidual is Daniel Patalino, Jr., who died on May 5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Born in Syracuse, New York, Daniel Patalino, Jr. graduated
from Solvay High School in 1959; and
WHEREAS, The owner and proprietor of Top Dog Associates and the former
Danny's Barber Shop, Daniel Patalino, Jr. was also a trustee for the
village of Solvay, an aide to Assemblyman Ned Kinsella, a past Town of
Geddes councilman, supervisor, highway superintendent, and Committee
Chairman; and
WHEREAS, An active member of his community, Daniel Patalino, Jr. was a
former lector and teacher at St. Cecilia's Church and a member of the
Solvay Tyrol Club, the Lions Club and the Solvay Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Daniel Patalino, Jr. participated in many
fundraising events and activities, and assisted many people in need in
our community; and
WHEREAS, An avid golfer, Daniel Patalino, Jr. was involved in a number
of golf leagues and events, including the Worm Burners Golf Tournament;
and
WHEREAS, Daniel Patalino Jr. is survived by his wife of 36 years, the
former Vicky Retzos; a son, Patrick (Peggy) Patalino; three daughters,
Pamela (Bobby) Angotti, Sheri (Steve) Young, and Athena (Tony) Lioto; 12
grandchildren, Brittany, Breanna and Ashley Lioto, Tyler, Adam and Shawn
DeLattre, Steven and Landon Young, Isabelle, Kate and Jack Patalino, and
Lola Angotti; one great-granddaughter, Giuliana Alcaras; two sisters,
Carol (Robert) Bourg and Judy (Stephen) Winchell; and many aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Daniel Patalino, Jr. leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the life and illustrious career of Daniel Patalino, Jr.; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Daniel Patalino Jr.
