LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Watkins Glen-Montour Falls Lions
Club upon the occasion of celebrating its 25th Charter Anniversary

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those renowned organizations which devote their energy, resources and
thoughtful care to improving the quality of life in their communities;
and
WHEREAS, The Watkins Glen-Montour Falls Lions Club is part of the
largest service organization in the world; Lions Club International is
an organization deeply committed to meeting the challenges of public
service; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Watkins Glen-Montour Falls Lions Club upon the occasion of celebrat-
ing its 25th Charter Anniversary, to be celebrated during the month of
June 2013; and
WHEREAS, The Watkins Glen-Montour Falls Lions Club supports various
local groups and programs, including: the Sight/Speech and Hearing
Committee; Recycle for Sight; Strong-Kids-Safe-Kids; Schuyler Hospital
Pasta Dinner; Salvation Army Bell-Ringing; and Adopt-A-Highway; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Watkins Glen-Montour Falls Lions Club is
in direct correlation to the efforts of its members, whose involvement
is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the Club and the population it serves; and
WHEREAS, The Watkins Glen-Montour Falls Lions Club is destined to
continue its noble mission of service to the community, and to the
world, exemplifying the ideals of Lions Club International for many
years to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Watkins Glen-Montour Falls Lions Club upon the occasion of
celebrating its 25th Charter Anniversary, honoring its members, past and
present, who have labored so conscientiously to secure and improve the
quality of life in the community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Watkins Glen-Montour Falls Lions Club.
