LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Barbara McCall, RN, CCRN, EMT-CC upon
the occasion of her retirement after 40 years of distinguished service
to the South Seneca Community Volunteer Ambulance
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Barbara McCall has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Barbara
McCall, RN, CCRN, EMT-CC upon the occasion of her retirement after 40
years of distinguished service to the South Seneca Community Volunteer
Ambulance; and
WHEREAS, Born October 26, 1934 in Camden, New Jersey, Barbara McCall
has an Associates degree in Nursing from Finger Lakes Community College;
she used her exemplary knowledge and skills to serve as a New York State
lab instructor for EMS, as well as to teach Basic Life Support, and
Advanced Cardiac Life Support; and
WHEREAS, Barbara McCall began as a Basic EMT for the South Seneca
Community Volunteer Ambulance, before becoming a critical care techni-
cian; currently a lifetime member, she has also served as vehicle main-
tenance, President, Treasurer, and on the Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, In 2001, Barbara McCall retired from the Geneva General
Hospital, and served as President of the Seneca County Board of Health;
and
WHEREAS, Active within her community, Barbara McCall was elected Trus-
tee and Secretary for the Romulus Historical Society, and is a former
volunteer for the Ovid Library; in addition, she was elected to the
Romulus Town Board, where she continues to serve today; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her five children, Mike, Char-
lotte, Charlene, Shari, and Jeanne, and her 12 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren, all of whom feel privileged to be a part of her
life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and in the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those civic-minded community members who dedicate their lives
and career to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Barbara McCall, RN, CCRN, EMT-CC upon the occasion of her
retirement after 40 years of distinguished service to the South Seneca
Community Volunteer Ambulance; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Barbara McCall.
