LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring F. Michael and Lynette Tucker upon the
occasion of their designation as recipients of A Community of Excellence
Award by The College of Saint Rose

WHEREAS, F. Michael and Lynette Tucker have given not only of their time
and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and leadership
and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor F. Michael and
Lynette Tucker upon the occasion of their designation as recipients of A
Community of Excellence Award by The College of Saint Rose; and
WHEREAS, Michael Tucker is the President and CEO of the Center for
Economic Growth (CEG), a position that he has held since early 2007; he
earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Villanova University where
he was the recipient of the College of Arts and Science alumni award;
and
WHEREAS, Michael Tucker is an attorney and licensed real estate broker
and has been involved in numerous area real estate development projects,
including hydroelectric and cogeneration projects; the redevelopment of
historic buildings in downtown Albany; the renovation and expansion of
the Teresian House Nursing Home and South Mall Towers Senior Apartments;
and apartments for the Center for the Disabled; and
WHEREAS, Michael Tucker has been a long-time member of the New York
State Business Council and the New York State Economic Development Coun-
cil, as well as Capitalize Albany and the Downtown Albany Business
Improvement District; he also serves on The College of Saint Rose School
of Business Advisory Council; and
WHEREAS, Additionally, Michael Tucker serves on the Board of Ulster
Savings Bank in Kingston, and served as Chairman of the Bethlehem Indus-
trial Development Agency and on the Board of Cottrell Paper Company in
Saratoga County; and
WHEREAS, Lynette Tucker earned her BS degree in Nursing from Villanova
University, where she was the recipient of the Medallion for Outstanding
Service to the College of Nursing; she has a Master of Science degree in
Nursing Education from Sage Colleges where she was previously an Adjunct
Clinical Nursing Instructor; and
WHEREAS, Lynette Tucker is a Registered Nurse and Education Specialist
at the Center for Learning and Development at Albany Medical Center; she
has been active in the community over the years in PTA leadership posi-
tions in the Bethlehem Public Schools and at The Albany Academy for
Girls; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Lynette Tucker is a member of The College of
Saint Rose Board of Associates, an appointed member of the Empire State
Plaza Arts Commission and currently serves on the Board of Equinox Inc.
and the Teresian House Foundation; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Michael and Lynette Tucker have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Michael and Lynette Tucker are the proud parents of Megan,
Eileen and Kathleen; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Michael and Lynette Tucker have
displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor F. Michael and Lynette Tucker upon the occasion of their desig-
nation as recipients of A Community of Excellence Award by The College
of Saint Rose; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to F. Michael and Lynette Tucker.
