LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Diane Berger upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of an award in recognition of her 30 years of
dedicated service to the Children's Learning Center by the United Cere-
bral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc.

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Diane Berger upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of an
award in recognition of her 30 years of dedicated service to the Chil-
dren's Learning Center by the United Cerebral Palsy Association of
Nassau County, Inc. celebrated at its Annual Association meeting held in
August 2013; and
WHEREAS, Diane (Dee) Berger has served as Principal of the Children's
Learning Center since 1996; she began her career at the United Cerebral
Palsy Association of Nassau County in 1982 when she was Director of
Program Services; in 1992, she became Assistant Executive Director, the
position she held prior to serving as Principal; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure, Children's Learning Center has developed
many special events and activities, including Homecoming, Prom, Ballet
Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, a Carnival, Pep Rallies and a Spring
Fling; these vital activities are great for every child's self-esteem
and provide an invigorating learning environment; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Diane Berger has displayed through-
out her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Diane Berger upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
an award in recognition of her 30 years of dedicated service to the
Children's Learning Center by the United Cerebral Palsy Association of
Nassau County, Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Diane Berger.
