LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Michael Suprunowicz upon the occasion of
being named Outstanding Alumnus by the Schenectady City School District
Educational Foundation, Inc.

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Michael Suprunowicz will be recognized as Outstanding Alumnus
by the Schenectady City School District Education Foundation, Inc.
during its annual Education Celebration to be held at the Stockade Inn
on January 16, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Mike earned a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Business
Administration from the State University of New York at Albany, and a
Juris Doctor from Albany Law School; and
WHEREAS, He has been admitted to the New York State Bar, Supreme Court
State of New York, Third Judicial Department, United States District
Court, Northern District of New York, and United States Tax Court; and
WHEREAS, Mike has served as a law professor at Albany Law School and
Union College, and is currently an adjunct faculty member and law
professor at the State University of New York at Albany; and
WHEREAS, He is also President of the Higgins, Roberts & Suprunowicz,
P.C. law firm; and
WHEREAS, Mike has been included in The Best Lawyers of America every
year since 1991; he was also honored as the publication's Lawyer of the
Year in 2013 for the Trusts and Estates practice area, Albany District;
and
WHEREAS, He has received the AV Preeminent Martindale-Hubbell Highest
Possible Peer Review Rating in Legal Ability and Ethical Standards, and
has been named in "New York Super Lawyers" upstate list; and
WHEREAS, Mike is a sought-after lecturer for many professional groups
and is well-published in textbooks and publications; and
WHEREAS, He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York
State Bar Association, the Schenectady County Bar Association, and the
Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York; and
WHEREAS, Mike is a Fellow of the New York Bar Foundation and the Amer-
ican College of Trusts and Estates Counsel; and
WHEREAS, He also contributes his time as an Advisory Member of the
Board of Directors for SI Group; and
WHEREAS, In the true spirit of the prestigious Outstanding Alumnus
Award, Mike is a wonderful role model for current Schenectady City
School District students, and has inspired many through his professional
success and dedication to his community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michael Suprunowicz upon the occasion of being named Outstanding
Alumnus by the Schenectady City School District Education Foundation,
Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael Suprunowicz.
