LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Arts Mid-
Hudson, Poughkeepsie, New York

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those cultural organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 50th Anniversary of Arts Mid-Hudson, Poughkeepsie, New York;
and
WHEREAS, The mission of Arts Mid-Hudson is to provide vision and lead-
ership to support thriving and diverse arts in the Mid-Hudson Valley by
uplifting, empowering and engaging through valuing the abundant presence
of art in the Mid-Hudson Valley, honoring diversity, and celebrating
creativity; and
WHEREAS, In so effectively carrying out its mission, Arts Mid-Hudson
has remained committed to playing a central role in supporting and
promoting all of the arts in the communities that they serve throughout
the Mid-Hudson Valley; and
WHEREAS, Arts Mid-Hudson was established in 1964 as a private, nonpro-
fit arts service organization to promote and coordinate cultural activ-
ity and development in Dutchess County; and
WHEREAS, The work of the organization has grown over the last 50 years
to include Dutchess, Ulster, and Orange Counties; and
WHEREAS, Current Executive Director Linda Marston-Reid has guided Arts
Mid-Hudson to new heights alongside her staff and the capable leadership
of Paul Tesoro, Chairperson of the Executive Committee and all members
of the Board of Trustees and Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents a unique opportunity for
this Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Arts Mid-Hudson of
Poughkeepsie, New York; and
WHEREAS, Organizations of singular distinction such as Arts Mid-Hudson
provide a model for enhancing the quality of life in the community and
merit the grateful praise of the community of the State of New York;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Arts Mid-Hudson of Poughkeepsie, New
York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Arts Mid-Hudson of Poughkeepsie, New York.
